When
on 1 January 1502 Portuguese navigators sailed into the bay known
today as Guanabara, they thought they had discovered the delta of
a huge river and named it "River January" - Rio de
Janeiro. Rio is a wonderful citie. The high points in Rio are the
beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and Barra da Tijuca, the
exquisitely beautiful woman, the largest football stadium in the
world, the Corcovado, the Sugerloaf and - above everything else -
the world famous carnival. In this beautiful book you will see 110
photos of Rio de Janeiro with short subtitles and an introduction.
